Beach Huts are Back

NBHTA introduced six beach huts to the harbour esplanade last summer and they will soon be opening again. We have one hut still available for immediate rent for the 2019 summer season. These are available to local community groups or individuals who could benefit from a space to support their cause or display their products. Preference will be given to schemes which support the charitable objectives of NBHTA (found on our website For further details please contact our Chairperson Jane; contact details at our website.

Planning Update

On 7th November East Lothian Council’s Planning Committee voted by a majority to accept the recommendation of their Planning Officer – the application has been refused planning permission.

NBHTA thanks everyone who became engaged in the debate and were sufficiently motivated to review the available evidence and supporting documentation in forming their own view – and then expressing that view in a considered and constructive way.

NBHTA remains focused on supporting appropriate, economically viable developments to secure an active, working harbour for the community and is delighted to work with any party that helps achieve this aim.

The Beach Huts Are Coming!

Our first 6 beach huts will be arriving shortly and will be available for rent for the season from April to September. They will be located near the new sea defence wall on the harbour esplanade. We are hoping to offer them to worthwhile activities and sports participation etc.

If you would like to apply for a beach hut please email stating your organisation, purpose and intended use of the hut.
